Preschool Programs
Programs:
We offer morning preschool programs for children 2 1/2 - 5 years of age, September
through May. Enriched and active extended care is available from 7:30 am - 2:00 pm
2 1/2 year-old program:
- 2-day (M, T) or 2 day (W, Th) 9:00 am - 11:30 am
- Low student-teacher ratio 2:8.
- Music and movement everyday!
Three-year-old program:
- 2-day (Th, F) 9:00 am - 11:30 am
- 3-day (M, T, W) 9:00 am - 11:30 am
- 5-day programs 9:00 am - 11:30 am
- Low student-teacher ratio 1:7.
- Stimulating and nurturing environment.
- Music with our music teacher everyday!
Four-year-old and Five-year-old program:
- 5 day program
- Low student-teacher ratio 1:9.
- Developmentally appropriate curriculum based on weekly themes that incorporate all areas of learning, including stories, language enrichment, art, music, science, math, blocks, dramatic play, music, outdoor time, and manipulatives.
- Our children especially love the time each day when they can self-select activities, thus learning time management, decision-making, and negotiation.
- Children leave the class fully prepared for kindergarten. Come and visit this joyful and energetic program!
Music:
- We have our own music teacher who prepares musical activities for the children everyday.
- Research shows a connection between music and brain development. At Congregational Preschool, music has always been an important aspect of our program! The 2 1/2 year olds and 3 year olds receive music every day! In the 4-5 year old class, the children receive music twice a week in a group setting, and have the opportunity to enjoy it during self-selection as well. The program stresses rhythm, singing, movement, and simple games. The children learn to play a variety of musical instruments. Learning to keep a beat helps in later academic pursuits.
